Partners

HaHaHelps collaborates with organizations that support youth facing adversity. These partnerships enable the programme to be delivered in real-world care environments while contributing to the continued development and evaluation of the model.

By working alongside established child and youth organizations, HaHaHelps integrates structured comedy-based programming into existing care systems, ensuring activities complement the psychosocial support already provided to young people.

SOS Children’s Villages is the world’s largest organization dedicated to supporting children and young people who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. Operating in over 130 countries and territories, SOS provides family-based residential care, education, and community support designed to help youth grow up with stability, relationships, and opportunity.

HaHaHelps was first implemented in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Cape Town, reaching 63 youth through five structured programme cycles between 2024 and 2025. Delivery was coordinated with residential staff to align with existing psychosocial support structures. HaHaHelps is now being formally evaluated through master’s research in psychology at the University of Cape Town.

In coordination with the national office of SOS Children’s Villages South Africa, HaHaHelps is also planning expansion to additional SOS sites in South Africa.
